New NEI Print Ads Will Appear in National Journal's Convention Daily during the Democratic National Convention

NEI will debut three new ads in National Journal during the Democratic National Convention.

The next administration must make critical energy policy decisions, such as cutting carbon emissions to slow global warming in a way that keeps our economy growing. The first new NEI advertisement set to appear in National Journal’s Convention Daily during the Democratic National Convention demonstrates how nuclear energy enhances our energy security and environment.

The second advertisement shows how the record of safe and economical operation of nuclear power plants has impressed leading Democratic research and policy think tanks.

The third advertisement shows that many Democratic members of Congress, governors, state legislators and policy organizations across the country support nuclear energy.

New NEI Radio Ads

In a new radio ad scheduled to air nationally beginning next week,.Mark Ayers, president of  the AFL-CIO Building and Construction Trades Department, talks about job opportunities in the nuclear industry, as new plant construction gets underway. A representative of the Fluor Corporation  discusses nuclear career opportunities in this new Spanish language ad. The ad will run on radio stations in Texas.

NEI Welcomes Senate Appropriators’ Extension of Lending Authority for Clean-Energy Power Projects
The fiscal 2009 energy and water funding bill approved Thursday by the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee provides full funding for the Department of Energy’s Nuclear Power 2010 program and extends indefinitely DOE’s ability to obligate $38.5 billion in clean-energy loan guarantees.
